LTC has decided there is enough demand for the product to produce it themselves. By increasing production capacity, there are more clients that will use LTC (for example, instead of prospecting clients who need 500 batteries per year, they can now prospect clients who need 50,000 batteries per year).

If demand exceeds production capabilites, they would sub-contract the process or buy more capacity (possibly and existing manufacturer).
