AMD's seem to finally have got their strategy correct. Under Jerry it seemed that AMD was trying to compete on a low cost high volume basis. (Volume is the vacine ???)

Now the company is competing by differentiating their offering, to smaller niche markets, quite similar to the way that Apple has done.

This is not to say that they will not benifit from economies of scale or reaching their break-even point, but to go head to head with a company that has many times the manufacturing capabilty and try an compete on a low cost/high volume basis was madness.

I think though this has been an evolution from thier days as a commodity subcontractor for Intel.

They seem to have come a long way.
