The "Turtles" were a famous group of traders that were trained by Richard Dennis and William Eckhardt (Eckhardt is a very mathematically oriented trader like I am; I'm not a huge fan of Richard Dennis though).

Anyway, they had a bet about whether you could teach someone to trade well or if good trading skills are just something people are born with (or not). So they screened a bunch of people basically off the street and taught them to trade. There was a lot of secrecy surrounding the thing and many of the turtles declined to be interviewed about the training they got.
