Tivoli Policy Director From IBM Provides Secure Access Management Across Business Ecosystem Applications

Support For WebSphere, SAP, Plumtree, BroadVision And BEA Software Enables Comprehensive Security Policy Management

AUSTIN, TX--(INTERNET WIRE)--Oct 24, 2001-- IBM today unveiled enhanced Tivoli software that enables organizations to secure access and manage security policies across a broader range of business ecosystem applications.
Out-of-the-box support for WebSphere, SAP, Plumtree, BroadVision and BEA software is offered in the latest version of Tivoli Policy Director, offering traditional enterprises and e-businesses secure, personalized portal, customer relationship management and other e-business solutions that extend across the business ecosystem to customers, suppliers, partners and employees.

Tivoli Policy Director is the standards-based secure access management software that allows organizations to control wired and wireless access to business ecosystem applications, letting the right people in, while keeping unauthorized people out.

Business ecosystems may assume the form of business portals, business-to-business exchanges, peer-to-peer business models, private, public or vertical industry e-Markets, procurement systems, corporate or consumer portals, customer relationship management (CRM) systems and other extended business applications.

"Security should not hold organizations back from realizing the promise of a connected e-business--where customers, suppliers, partners and employees have access to their applications through desktops, Web browsers or wireless devices," said Arvind Krishna, vice president of security products, Tivoli Software, IBM Software Group. "With Tivoli Policy Director organizations can extend their secure e-business as their customer, partner and employee base increases."

Tivoli Policy Director now includes Web single sign-on and authorization functionality for leading portal and CRM applications such as BroadVision One-To-One Enterprise(TM), the Plumtree Corporate Portal, the IBM WebSphere Portal Family and mySAP.com(R). Additionally, Tivoli Policy Director supports Java applications built on both IBM WebSphere Application Server and BEA WebLogic(R).

Tivoli Policy Director is also helping organizations secure other parts of their business ecosystem by supporting public key infrastructure solutions from Baltimore Technologies and Entrust, Inc., as well as popular wireless protocols such as the Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) and i-mode.

Pricing and Availability

Tivoli Policy Director 3.8 is currently available worldwide. Pricing is based on the number of users and the volume of licenses purchased. Support for the products listed above is included.

Tivoli Policy Director 3.8 is available in Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish.
