I was thinking whether the private investment fund which can convert to common is shorting in order to get triple or even 10, 100 times more common.

for 4m dollars convert at 0.04 =100m shares, if he shorts 10m shares or ever 20m shares, so what.

But, for CMM, how did they value the buyout price 2.15 for this kind conversion in advance?
