while it is a gargantuan problem, it does not have to be the collapse of the markets. in some cases, there should be outright prison time for those that blatantly allowed and even promoted the institutionalization of naked short selling without mandated legal covering of legitimate certified shares.

but collapsing the market would almost be a victory for the naked short sellers - in the same way that naked short sellers would collapse a company into bankruptcy or delisting and never have to account for how they 'counterfeited' a given company to death thru NSS.

strong remedies should be put in place with many levels of pinpoint accountability and zero tolerance. but the market should continue on, with severe punitive penalties, imprisonment and closing down of certain perpetrators.
market makers should be eliminated imho. treat it more like the 'forex' and get back to strict supply & demand.

the national clearing system should be completely computerized and standardized with zero wiggle room, no stock 'borrowing', no tolerance, ever. either the legal shares are available for sale from given corporation or they are not.

the SEc should be abolished and replaced with a new Securities oversight/enforcement agency - a fresh start.

Having said all that, I daresay, as long as we have the CORRUPT FEDERAL RESERVE as our central banking system, with its fiat, unbacked currency (which used to be backed by gold reserves), it would be difficult to make a totally clean start.
The central bank is an ENTIRELY UNCONSTITUTIONAL enterprise and is at the root cause of all financial & securities fraud & entitlement in this country.

This Republic (not democracy) needs Congress to take the lead, and get our financial/money system & securities markets completely overhauled, in line with the Constitution. Gold-backed currency must return, etc.

I believe that the money 'powers' have knowingly invited this chaos in their perverted hegelian manner, in order to provide even more sinister systems. they must be fought, exposed, and kicked out. any of you who would call this conspiratorial have been part of the problem, because the massive, organized thievery of the securities markets by banks, brokers, market makers & politicians was in fact a very real conspiracy. an evil, wicked one. and it needs the light of righteous truth shined brightly on it, until their stench and debauchery is removed entirely from our country's foundations.

imho
