Is he Ignorant or perhaps devious?
It seems,perhaps, Family is intended to be a funding vehicle. All family does is carry the financial end after these guys have taken out profit plus in the front end.
How does Family fund Emmet/ Furla? Simply by borrowing money that unsuspecting shareholders pay back when they dump money here. Some of your money, of course, goes to those adept at flipping.

Like it has been said many times here, "this is gambling"
If you can't sit at your screen all day with one eye on the stock and the other on level 2 you are playing against a stacked deck and your probably busy paying off Furla's debt.
