Biowatch,
I actually met Rutger Hauer on the streets here in Los Angeles; he was riding his Harley, I was in my "old man's sedan." We were stopped at a light and I told him how much I admired "Bladerunner" and his work in the film. When he asked me what I was doing, I told him I was working on a film with one of his countrymen, Theo Van De Sande (a great cinematographer). When Rutger heard that, he screamed at me to pull into a gas station parking lot, jumped off his bike, told me to get out of my car and then proceeded to hug me and lift me off the ground (I was lighter then). He said he was so thrilled, because Theo was the greatest cinematographer that his country had ever produced and he was just so glad that Theo was working in Hollywood. Then he did this little dance around the gas station while chanting "Theo Van De Sande." I invited him to our set, but I never heard from him or saw him again.
Time to lose money in the stock market.
And thanks to Ben Bernanke for allowing us to have this pause in the bull market, so that I could share these memories with you.
