Athlon 64 3400+ is coming January 6th, socket 754. No socket 939 in sight.

First P4 Prescott 2.8 Ghz is coming Jan 7th. Prescott will adjust voltage on the fly. Obviously, Athlon 64 Newcastle can do it as well.

The current Prescott socket requirements called FMB 1.5 support chips up to 3.6 Ghz. So, we won't see 3.8 Ghz P4 until Tejas comes.

Athlon FX-53 will come in the first week of February, together with Intel Prescott. Probably to spoil the party. Athlon FX-51 will be immediately discontinued.

Intel is late to ship volume of Prescott stepping C1 to February launch. Prescott stepping C0 is very hot, usually works on 2.8 and 3.0 Ghz. Prescott 3.2 Ghz will be pretty rare in February, 3.4 Ghz will be pure paper.

Motherboard manufacturers have only Prescott 2.8 Ghz for testing. They hope that their products will work fine with faster chips.
