Grande Portage Resources Ltd. Intersects Sulphides at the Old Sport Horizon

Airborne Mag and EM Survey Completed on Merry Widow Property
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - June 5, 2007) - Grande Portage Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:GPG - News; "Grande Portage" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that drilling at Hole MWDDH-07-53 has successfully intersected 15 feet (core length) of stringer, blebby and semi-massive to massive pyrrhotite, magnetite, chalcopyrite and lesser pyrite mineralization within a skarn alteration assemblage. Fragments of diorite to gabbroic intrusive rock were also noted within the core. Historically, this relationship was also noted by previous operators as drilling approached the intrusive core. Bore hole EM geophysics will be conducted on MWDDH-07-53 as it has on other select holes. Drilling is now well underway on MWDDH-07-54 which steps-out 75 metres to the north along the same Mag feature related to the recent intersection.

At the Merry Widow Pit area, crews have been actively extending the grid out along trend and are conducting a tightly spaced ground Mag and EM survey. Drilling is expected to start very soon as initial sites are being selected and prepared.
The Company is also pleased to announce that Aeroquest Ltd. has now completed its previously announced 1590 line km airborne Mag and EM survey on the Merry Widow project. Aeroquest will now begin an airborne survey over a portion of the Company's newly acquired Cherry claims. Approximately 1804 line-kilometres of coverage is planned over areas mapped as underlain by Quatsino Limestone and cut by various intrusive bodies; the stratigraphy is very similar to that observed in and around both the Old Sport Horizon and the Merry Widow open pit. The data collected will assist the Company in determining areas for follow-up work including diamond drilling.
