Half the world now has all the information they need to
successfully integrate high-k/ metal gates in their process
flow, (if they want to) With the gate stacks that can withstand
high temperature annealing and which can be implemented
in normal process order.

TSMC, TI, Samsung, Qimonda, NXP, Micron, NEC, Panasonic,
Infineon, HP, Renesas, AMD, IBM, Spansion and Intel itself.

These are all the SEMATECH members which received the
results of a very successful large scale joint research effort in
January this year.

It was SEMATECH's upcoming press announcement, known
in advance to all it's members, which prompted both Intel
and IBM to disclose their own high-k progress as well,
all on the same day.
