They might not have far to drill, but you still need to put drill pipe all the way down. Therefore you need something that can handle the weight. I'd think they'd use the Phantom.

They're drilling into the top of an oil dome. I don't know how good their control is for angle drilling to stay in the formation, so my guess is they just do a vertical.
