That`s why a $20 million verdict, soon to be $60 mil after judicial trebling, took billions of dollars of market cap away today. The fact that Broadcom didn`t invent any of the four patents they`ve beaten us on, but bought them all, adds insult to injury.
I`m extremely disappointed with the way Qualcomm`s legal team has been spanked by Broadcom and Mr. Lee thus far, sullying corporate esteem and good will in a wanton way. Hoping that their end game strategy will outsmart the backdaters at Broadcom is no longer a source of solace. For the first time in ten years, I`m ashamed of their poor performance.
