To the board,

I would like to thank you all for responding to my plea for help.

So far I want to thank Tom Veale, Toofuzzy, Lemonhead, aptus and others below for their generous contributions. So far I have received:

A Vortex spreadsheet from Conrad
A Husky spreadsheet from Don Carlson (with more help)
A downloaded AIM barebones spreadsheet from the aimware site
Am still waiting on word from myst for an X-Dev spreadsheet

I also remember looking at a spreadsheet or program from the trendseeker website that looks promising. ddca or something like that.

I like the idea of the spreadsheet so I can use the template to insert stock/fund share price and let the spreadsheet do the work. That is selfish of me and points a great deal to my laziness and procrastination. To all, thank you, thank you, thank you for your hard work and dedication.

My main goal is to maximize my 401k portfolio to where I can augment my retirement in about six years.

My 401k portfolio consists of several vanguard funds and a company stock fund, BC.

It looks like a lot of the funds act alike, especially in the recent bull market. (which I did not catch OUCH!). So you see one delimna here.

As I have said, I will run the spreadsheets with downloaded stock/fund prices from yahoo. I only plan to paste to the column price close and maybe price date with my downloaded data.

If this is not a good way to back test with funds other than what comes with the spreadsheet or if there are changes that should be made before pasting the data please let me know.

Funds - Beta

VBMFX a bond market index fund - ?
VAAPX asset allocation fund - .81
VWNFX Windsor II fund - .74
VFINX a 500 Index fund - 1.00
VMRGX Morgan Growth fund - 1.15
MGSEX Managers Special Equity fund - 1.14
JAOSX Janus Overseas fund - 1.07
BC Brunswick stock fund - .877

With this selection, I hope to find the right program to use.

Thanks again

Tom B
