virginian: If the auction goes off at 200M, that would mean it averaged just about 167,000 per item. You can't seriously believe that is possible.
Have you read the items that are included in the collection as listed on the USXP web site? The whole collection, as listed by USXP itself, consists of less than 4000 items, of which 1900+ were not worth noting, per comment at the end of the last PDF list. Could you cite 50 items that have a chance of getting anywhere near 167K?
I highly doubt the auction will raise as much as 5M, based on the quality of the items available. We'll see, in a week, but one thing is crystal clear: There is no chance the items will come in at the numbers being claimed. Anyone who actually reads the list of notable items (the 6 PDF lists) can tell that.
