SPOKANE, WASHINGTON--(CCNMatthews - May 22, 2007) - MARIFIL MINES LTD. (TSX VENTURE:MFM - News; "Marifil" or "the Company") announces the assay results received from the next five holes of its 28-hole diamond drill program at its wholly-owned San Roque project, Rio Negro Province, Argentina. Holes DDH-5 through -9 continued to cut significant intervals of indium, as seen in the first four holes (see Marifil news release of May 8, 2007), as well as intercepting promising levels of gold and base metals, particularly zinc (see Table 1 below.) In fact, all of the first six holes intercepted significant zinc mineralization (see Table 2 below.) (The balance of the assay results are in process at Alex Stewart Laboratory in Mendoza, Argentina and are expected later this month.)

Interval (m) Au (g/t) Pb (%) Zn (%) In (g/t)
DDH-5 21.7-22.7 0.65 0.49 0.19 0.08 236
37.0-39.0 1.30 0.42 0.12 0.14 149

64.6-66.1 1.13 0.37 2.68 3.31 9.0

DDH-8 45.9-47.2 1.00 1.71 0.33 0.36 12
70.5-71.5 0.76 0.38 0.47 2.07 33

DH-9 Anomalous values but no "ore grade" values.

(1) This interval also assayed 3.11% copper

Company geologists believe that holes DDH-7, -8, and -9 may have cut a sub-parallel structure rather than the main Del Indio structure. This would explain the weaker mineralization, which is similar to that seen in the El Relincho structure, another sub-parallel vein and fault system on the south end.

Pedro Vera, a senior Marifil geologist states, "Some of the rock cut in drilling suggests we may be on the edge of a large diatreme system. If this turns out to be true, then our target may be a bulk tonnage, near-surface deposit with open pit potential."

It is important to note that all of the first six holes (of the nine holes from which assays have been received thus far) contain significant amounts of zinc mineralization (sphalerite) throughout the entire interval and holes DDH-1 to -6 ended in zinc mineralization. These six holes have tested a 200 m strike length along the Del Indio structure (see San Roque map(2) on the Company's website at http://www.marifilmines.com/s/SanRoque.asp). The zone is still open-ended on all four sides and at depth.

The sphalerite mineralization occurs as stockwork veinlets and disseminations in every rock type cut in the drilling. Indium mineralization may be a somewhat later feature as indium seems to be related primarily to later stage through-going structures such as the Del Indio vein.

The following table illustrates the strong zinc mineralization cut in the first six holes along the Del Indio structure.

Table 2
True
Thickness
Hole Interval (m) (m) Zn (%)
DDH 1 3.0 to 54.0 m 51 0.28

DDH-2 4.0 to 105 101 0.16

DDH-3 3.0 to 51.0 48 0.43

DDH-4 3.0 to 120.0 117 0.95

DDH-5 3.0 to 90.0 87 0.44

DDH-6 3.0 to 154 151 0.79

DDH-7 3.0-81.0 78 0.36

These latest results follow previously reported assays from holes DDH-1 through -4, which intercepted promising zinc, indium and gold mineralization including 10.5 m of 473 g/t indium (including 2.7 m of 1,459 g/t indium).

((2)Two of the 28 holes drilled are located outside the coverage of the map, which is available on the Company's website. Hole 28 is located about 125 m south of holes DDH1 and 2 and Holes DDH-26 and 27 are located, respectively, 75 and 125 m to the north of DDH 5 and 6.)
