One more important thing to keep in mind on the subject. Even if we NEVER have a rule that requires that all (or just low dollar volume) stocks be kept for X period of time after the contest begins (and this is something we will talk about during PSL6)...

...ironically, the 15% rule that is of no value whatsoever for Day #1, could easily be of value for Day #2 or Day #whatever for the exact same stock.

Say, you traded or froze CKGT today at the close, hopefully trying to capitalize on the spread issue. You STILL have the 15% rule in effect tomorrow! If that stock opens back down below 15%, then the 15% rule comes into effect. The trade (or freeze) doesn't go through and it costs the person one of their four transactions.

Note: Freezes are unlimited in all cases except one - that being if it triggers the 15% rule - see Ibox.
