I spoke to the company and from what I understand the IVT is now smaller and lighter than the generation shown at the stockholders meeting and that they have improved the low gear ratio to better than 5 to 1 on the overdrive. This makes the one size fits all idea very close to a reality. The unit has become so small for the power it delivers that a school bus or tractor trailer worthy model could is much smaller than an automatic in a passenger car. I also understand that the max angle of the CV joint has been extended as well. They won't tell me any of the design specifics and it seems like the patents are being modified. The company is very confident that they have covered every base in terms of patentable technology regarding geared hydrostatic IVT's. Though I don't know the specifics on the IVT the bottom line is the following points:

1. Lighter
2. Easier to produce
3. Close to one size fits all
4. Improved fuel economy
5. Easier to interface with engine management computers
6. Less parts
7. Better canidate for retrofit appliactions
