Advanced Medical Isotopes Corporation Joins U.S. Industry Coalition
Thursday May 17, 9:32 am ET
KENNEWICK, Wash., May 17, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Advanced Medical Isotopes Corporation (AMIC) (Other OTC:ADMD.PK - News) announced that as an integral part of its 2007 Corporate Growth Strategy, the company recently joined the U.S. Industry Coalition (USIC).

USIC (http://www.USIC.net)) is a nonprofit organization of American businesses, associations, and research institutions dedicated to the nonproliferation of weapons of mass destruction through technology commercialization. USIC builds partnerships by bringing together U.S. companies with scientists and engineers in emerging Eurasian markets and has facilitated business ventures worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

AMIC, as Lead Partner, has jointly submitted an International Proliferation Prevention (IPP) proposal to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for the development of an advanced compact Neutron Generator system for development by the Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology (KIPT) in the Ukraine, which utilizes cold war technology developed for neutron based weapons. The technology utilizes a Linear Proton Accelerator to focus a proton beam on a Beryllium sphere to generate a directionally controlled neutron particle beam. This technology produces a higher energy flux over a focused area for high yield isotope production, and indicates a process that may be a technically superior process to any current commercially available production system.

The IPP is expected to be an 18 to 24 month project and will be conducted with an internationally recognized engineering team partner (ARES Corporation) and the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, providing AMIC with the Intellectual Property rights for this technology utilization in all countries outside the former Soviet Union.

CEO William J. Stokes, said: ``This project further expands AMIC's intellectual property portfolio for the production of medical and diagnostic radioisotopes and we anticipate a bright future for the commercialization of this technology.''

About AMIC

Advanced Medical Isotopes Corporation is engaged in the development of advanced production systems and processes for bringing previously unavailable medical isotopes to the marketplace and advancing systems for local product production. The field of nuclear medicine has routinely utilized radioisotopes in the diagnosis of disease while new processes are being pioneered for the targeted treatment of diseases such as cancer in preference to surgical techniques. Advanced Medical Isotopes Corporation products support the accessibility to these less invasive therapeutic processes by advancing systems for lower cost production and improving supply availability of medical isotopes to hospitals and clinical treatment centers.
