Hi, Milo, nice to hear from you! Welcome to iHub, I think you will find the level of discourse here higher than RB. (I hardly have anyone on my ignore list. :)

I'm not sure of the juxtaposition of that URL in your message - you don't think that has something to do with me, do you? I do, however, subscribe to the optimistic tone expressed there that Opteron should eat into Xeon marketshare.

In fact, with AMD's new priorities (Servers, then laptops, last desktop), AMD has the manufacturing capacity to threaten quite a bit of Xeon market share. 18 or 20% may not be enough to make a dent in desktops, but focussed on servers? That is a whole different ballgame!
