OK, same die as A64 3200, with 1/2 cache disabled (whether due to failure or to fill market niche). A way to fill the gap until Newcastle arrives. Anyway, it's a great scheme to get A64 quickly out to the general public. Shows yields can't be too bad (or demand is slack).

This was AMD's (Jerry's) original strategy, - high volume, 64 bits for free. Buy anything else and you buy OBSOLESCENCE . Many of us dreamed of this way back, figured we needed one year lead on Intel to make it work. Thought we might lose it with all the SOI delays.

This next 6 months will be interesting......
