Average is the price at which I have purchased the stock. Cost average is the price of my initial investment divided by the number of shares I own.

I have been buying shares at the bid and selling them on the ask, then buying them back on the bid... it's called "fliping". If you do it enough you bring your cost average down to a safer level of risk.
