wyolnvestor, i hear you and no doubt you're speaking from a wealth of experipence. but i do disagree with what you are saying because the rain does make a difference. one of the differences you've pointed out already, the hauling of water. some of the methods for a hydraulic frac job are: groundwater, the trinity and woodbine aquifers, recycling process using returned frac water by on-site distilling units, surface water, tanks, frac ponds, reservoirs, brazos river, creeks and others to name.
you've brought up a good point though because a drought is a drought and they've certainly have had one. it does impact the locals like you've mentioned and then some and of course everyone under the sun is blamming the drillers.
