Chipguy, in some posts you compare Opteron to IPF and in others to Xeon. By doing this, and assuming you are not simply using arguments of convenience to bash AMD, you are implicitly accepting the fact that AMD's chip is flexible enough to compete with both Intel chip lines.

Is this conclusion an accurate assessment of your view of Opteron?

No.

I think it is more a situation where all AMD has is a
hammer. So it is trying to sell it into different markets
by pretending that each market segment is exactly
like a nail.
