Elmer, I agree that the price drop is beyond the correction hypothesis. I don't know if there is occult knowlege affecting the price. It may simply be an unease over chipset shipments in November and December, the threat of more flash competition and the unknowns surrounding every process shrink. Also, there is end-of-year funds activity, and AMD is a good candidate for a stock to dump to bolster profit reports for the year - realized gains always impress more than unrealized gains. (If this is a factor, expect a price runup in January as those shares are bought back.)

Meanwhile, I do consider this a falling knife and I am staying away for a while. In the market, a falling knife is two-edged: It can cut the person who is trying to buy the bottom, and it can cut the person who is trying to short the downtrend.

UpNDown - To me this indicates that they don't feel it is necessary to prop up the stock as the fundamentals that the insiders are privy to are sound. Your hypothesis is interesting but I cannot assign a probability. My experience tells me that these speculations do not have enough behind them to be useful in trading. I'm staying out of this stock until it settles.
