According to my Broker...E.F. Hut....errrr Scottrade, if you have a cash account, it is NOT the practice of Scottrade to use those shares and Peter ( the broker ) says that they can't! That is their policy per him, but my understanding was and Peter said the only time shares can be hypothesized or rehypothesized or borrowed is if they are associated with a margin account and that account is not in a negative balance status!

I would suggest each of you concerned about it call your broker and find out their stand on the matter.
