Most of you are aware of the brokages lingo. However I can tell
some are new. Here are a few you might find helpful.
1 When buying on the Bid you say: I am looking for stock on the BID with a limit price of X.

2 When buying at the ASK: I am taking the offering at a limit price of X.

3 When buying or selling in between the Bid & Ask. I have a limit Buy or limit sell in between at X price.

4 When selling at the Bid: You are hitting the Bid.

5 When selling at the ASK: You are offering stock at the ASK.

6 When selling above the Ask: You are tesing the market to see
if buyers will pay higher.
7 When buying below the BID: You are trying to determine the
extent of the selling.
Hope this is helpful for the beginners, the rest of you already know.
