Now that the acquisition has become effective, do we have ANY idea where the news has been released?

Can you ask Nik/JB/Ian/David/Philip when and where the news is to be released? I am presuming there is a comprehensive marketing plan for news dissemination, but we are sitting at a volume of 42,000 shares traded in the first hour, with only 3 MMs on the bid/ask.

We won't get any traction with that kind of interest. IMO
