Maybe I could clarify the board policy (as best as I can describe) with a brief note:
People here who want to discuss "negative" aspects of the company should be free to air their opinions without fear of reprisal. Sometimes another member of the board will attempt to belittle you for it or call you names. Please ignore them. If it's personal (as in a personal attack) then we'll do our best to catch it and delete it. If you're sincere and you try to get along, there are others here who value your opinion.
By the same token people should respect the right of others to disagree. If you have a point of view, and others don't subscribe to it then you'll just have to agree to disagree. Hammering an idea or issue beyond the point at which others are willing to listen is not constructive. That is the line that I draw between a sceptic and a basher (or pumper as the case may be).
I think that whichever side of the fence you come down on, it's important to remember that even though these boards are important for forming consensus, the market, by definition, relies on contrarian view points in order to "function". Without disagreement a market ceases to exist. So if someone has a point of view that is irreconcilable from your own, there's nothing wrong with ignoring them rather than trying to impose your own will. Besides, if you're right, you'll probably wind up taking their money. That's what makes markets work.
