You got it!!! Buy at the bid or slightly above (or in between the bid/ask) if you can when it's running & if/when you're gonna sell, then sell into the run at the ask or above. Depending on the situation, when a stock is on a run & I want to add I will set my buy at the ask...and even then sometimes get filled below.
I frequently scoop up cheapies when the momo is slow by having orders waiting down below & waiting for some silly bidwhackers or nervous nellies to graciously allow them to fill me.
Several times I've sat below the CTTJ bid and consistently gotten filled... .0003 .0004 .0005 & today added .0006.
When I've sold some of my CTTJ (& ever so many others) on a run, I place my sell orders above the current price point so that I get filled. That way I'm happy & don't hurt the run with my sells.
