Well, it sure was different when AMD launched the Athlon.
They actually made money for one year - then lost it all back and twice as much more in the next two years.
Good thing the Germans are their new masters.

Yes they posted a profit but they have never recovered the investment in NexGen. They are at a net loss as a result of that purchase, but remember the AMD memory never works backwards.
