Without a backtest, it's still a guessing game ... even though the MFI setup seems to work for now. Also, since it's based on chart indicators (which are based on price), that means it's prone to whipsaws. Because indicators follow price, they'll always be behind any trend change ... even if they're adjusted to really short time periods.
That's because chart indicators are the "effect" in "cause-effect" (price is "cause"). Don't know what can be used for "cause" but 9/11 was a good example ... in which the short-term reaction ("effect") was dropping prices.
OK, I think I just talked myself into a paperbag pretty well. Now to see how long I can hold my breath in here with all this hot air
