A wonderful IBOX. I recently saw a preview for TV special titled
"the dark secrets of issac newton."
I didn't catch the show so i can't say what mysterious information has been "discovered."
Don't much care about that but more about the need we have to dissect, label, compartmentalize, exploit, etc.
Good grief, Newton's been dead a pretty good while. Unless, this information is a revelation that might serve to better understand something, why bother?
Friday night reality check with my small circle of "talking heads," was excellent.
Discussions about the Christian Funda-MENTALISM was rather fiery. I kept my mouth shut for once.
These folks are my source of wisdom and grounding of sorts. I am their barometer for the "excitement factor/value" by which they guage the affect an issue would have on the average American. It's not a perfect trade-off but it's OK.
Now, when one of these "talking heads" is concerned about an issue, I get excited. Gives me an avenue to vent my frustrations about the establishment; you know, the legal criminals-at-large.
We all have-we must have, someone or something to serve this purpose.
My friend, Him, the environmental pro in the group, updated us on the situation surrounding Duponts facility in New Johnsonville, TN. Apparently, Dupont has been discharging Dioxin into the land (not the major immediate concern) but also into their discharge stream.
It's a big deal. A little dioxin goes a long way, "a little dab will do ya," kind of thing.
It's extremely toxic. The water becomes contaminated as do the fish.
This has been going on, apparently, for a long time.
Workers (most of them, steel workers) from a Dupont facility in a different state began getting sick and law suits were filed. The complaints spread to the TN facility. Currently the state has denied Dupont's request to extend their landfill until further investigation.
The next obvious question is how can this be allowed to happen!
The reply wasn't straight forward and wasn't answered.
But back to Christian fundamentalists.
They give LOVE a bad name!
