for argument's sake... let's say the buyout company pays 100 mil for BCO. Sandy get's 100 Mil and 17% of that is held in an account owned by BKMP. So BKMP get's 17 million. (keep in mind SW has a stake in BCO as well) and part of the other 83 million goes to SW without having to justify anything to the shareholders of BKMP. Now the remaining 17 million he keeps in an account owned by BKMP for future investments. Where/when exactly do the shareholders see the $$$? He doesn't have to distribute it or do anything with it for as long as he sees fit. He's got the proceeds from part of the 83% of BCO which he can live off for a few years at least.
