Ok, I know this is dated, but this walk down memory lane is interesting. Back in late 2004, we had a contest on RB on the price of oil at the end of 2004. Out of 52 entries, Echos won the contest - as his guess was $43.25. The final price was $43.45.
Upon winning, Echos posted this on 12-30-04.
"And just to make sure we dont miss a beat, my prediction for next year's price of oil on 12/31/05.... drumbeat please... $61.85
I don't believe this prediction was ever addressed. Therefore, although over a year late, let me congratulate Echos on a second great prediction in a row. The closing price of oil on 12-31-05 was $61.05.
Ideally, we would have asked him what his 12-31-06 prediction was at the end of 2005, but that ship sailed.
Anyway, better late than never.
