Quiz: Shire hopes to switch users from Adderall XR to Vyvanse, the new “abuse resistant” amphetamine drug developed by New River, before Adderall XR loses marketing exclusivity. Why does Shire expect this switch to be easier to implement than a typical drug-switching strategy (e.g. Celexa to Lexapro) in spite of the fact that the Adderall XR and Vyvanse are very similar and there is no strong medical incentive for patients to switch?
