BNI $95-89-91 reports in-line, ex items (92.60 ) : Reports Q1 (Mar) earnings of $1.10 per share, excluding non-recurring items, in-line with the Reuters Estimates consensus of $1.10; revenues rose 5.3% year/year to $3.65 bln vs the $3.64 bln consensus.

Burl Nrth Santa Fe Conference Call Summary (90.59 -2.01) -Update : On conf call, co says it expects Q2 EPS of approx $1.27 vs Reuters consensus of $1.38. Co says it's reflective of a slower growing economy. Co says it expects Freight revenue growth of around 5-6% with about flat volume. For the full year, co anticipates solid pricing and further improvements in productivity, specifically velocity. However, the co is concerned that the volume growth driven by the economy may continue to be soft in the second half of the year. Co says that's reflected in its decision to reduce capital expenditures by about $100 million. Co says the secular story for the rail industry and for BNI in particular remains very solid.
