whonose- I just sent ThSeeker my analysis based on production numbers. I can't speak for mgmt., but there's actually a lot of good reasons for the PR of the bid:

1) Establishing a floor for subsequent offers.

2) It's 6X what the stock was selling for prior to the offer.

3) They want to gauge investor sentiment on the deal.

4) This may be a prelude to a JV or other type of transaction.

What might be throwing people off a bit is the amount of reserves-- I'm not so sure that is an accurate manner in which to judge the value of a mining company. After all, there will still be operating costs to extract the ore. If Aurus could reach production levels of 10,000 oz/month as they PR'd recently, they could probably get offers more in line with what we expected. It's quite difficult to get a primo offer with your first set of financials.
