Ot: I glanced at the site on naked shorting and noticed that only 15 companies had signed the petition. Imo being that naked shorting is sometimes a component of death spiral financing, prohibiting it may dissuade "equity investors" from doing what they do thus making it harder for smaller companies with bad credit to raise funds. Imo it is probably a necessary evil and any cfo who arranges a deal like that and doesnt understand the possible consequences should be axed.
