yeah ezzo, “conducting business in the U.A.E. market itself is prohibited.” but not prohibited in the free trade zones, only in the surrounding UAE markets. Cuts down on competition for resident merchants outside the free trade zones and a take-over by foreign interests, is my take. I was also wondering if establishing a business and owning property in the free trade zone would allow for citizenship after a certain period of time - which would of course open up the UAE markets. I haven't found anything on that tho
