exceo . . .I'm sorry to hear of the bad news concerning your wife's health. This endeavor, quest, or whatever we choose to call our investment in ERHC has been somewhat exciting at times and extremely frustrating at others. Did we get in too early or too late? Our own age dictates that to some degree, but if this can happen while we still can have enough good health to enjoy it, I know I don't have to tell you that it will be a tremendous addition to our blessings we already have.

Eight months ago, I was diagnosed with diabetes and prostate cancer on the same day. Bummer. I couldn't even have a pity party with Blue Bell ice cream. To give an idea of what we were looking at, my PSA was 263 and my lymph glands were extremely enlarged which showed the cancer was matastisized (not sure of the spelling). The doctor just shook his head.

Then the bone scan showed no cancer in the bones which surprised him (good). The only thing I have been doing until now is hormone therapy. The next 2 body scans have shown my lymph glands have reduced in size (good). My blood test last week showed a PSA reading of "nondetectable" (less than .1). I'm not sure what that really means, but I know it is good. Now the doctor is shaking his head, but in a different way. He said I might be one for the record books. I know the cancer is still there, but other than a decrease in strength/energy (which to some degree may be just old age), I don't feel bad. At some point, the hormone therapy will quit working, and I will have to deal with that. Each day is a blessing. My 37 year marriage is even stronger than it has been in the past. There are a lot of people praying for me from all over the U. S. and even in some foreign countries.

I'll keep your family (wife) in my own prayers. And I'm also praying that this thing pops even just a little so we can enjoy our intelligent decision to stick with it.
