INTEL had the Prescott introduction once firmly scheduled for September, then October, then December,

You are making the mistake of attributing a schedule from the Inquirer and various AMD fanboy sources as an "Intel schedule".

The Intel schedule has been shipments of Prescott in Q4 and systems available in the early part of the year -- late January, early Feruary.
