Question for the board. The symbol change is expected to take place by thursday? What happens if we do not see it on the list today?

When there is a symbol change people wont beable to sell, but you can still buy the stock under the new symbol, so during that period it is expected by some that the shorts will have to cover thus holding is wise - according to some. I have heard this many times but, haven't actually experienced a short covering over a symbol change. Are there some samples to provide.
