phalgm.. My pleasure. But, I only know Ameritrade/Izone broker layout.
Once logged on, I click, "portfolio & accounts". then click, "history & statements" then click, "statements"
I then fill in the "date boxes" for all the monthly statements I want to see... they come up as links that I can click on "one at a time" back and forth/over and over, until finished. Example: if I sold RSHN in Dec. 2006 and want to know its history since I first purchased it, I check each statement backwards until I see where it had R/S and/or namechange (which could be on more than one statement, if there was more than one R/S and/or name change. I finally arrive at the symbol (the company name is also given on statement)I purchased (when purchased, price paid, etc) March '04 VNTB.
When I fill out tax form "D"/"D1" (Capital gain/loss), I do not put the actual R/S conversion figure. I just write name at purchase, R/S to new name, etc.
Another way to approach the problem: I may know about when I bought it, know that the name changed (cannot remember all the letters in old symbol, etc.); using my recall of events I may be able to find the statement/s that apply, quicker than "blind searching" each statement.
Hope this helps and if you need more help just ask.
