Kim.. great post.. I think that link you posted is excellent, I will give my view on that, I think things are not the same as they were under Raj. The hatred between commnunities does exists I will be a fool to say no but so does the love, in partition where as a result of abrupt independence we in sub-continent got carried away and wrote a history of bloodshed we have maintained a certain balance and respect of life in sub-continent. 130 m Muslims in India live very peacefully and they love India, religion has never been the cause of major rift although as a nation they have some internal disputes, the credit does go to Hindus who have been very kind and are basically a non-violent race. In Pakistan /Indian dispute the Muslims in India have shown extraordinary valor to defend their borders. On a sub-continent basis we have a lot of unity amongst nation although Pakistani Muslims internally do have serious sectarian problems, but unfortunately that is part of Islamic history if they don't have extrnal threat the infigting starts. I see that history has some serious ponts but here the things would be different.
