While I was studying Chemistry at Weber State in Utah I did a semester stint with one of the chemistry professors Dr. Guyman that was working on a method to remove the tar from the shell. Very interesting. It seemed that he was getting close even then. He has been refining the process for over 15 years.
IMHO it is not going to be very long before they are using his methods on a larger scale. Last I heard they are doing some stuff but it is all small scale. Quite a few oil companies were watching his research very closely.
