By this time next year Cray will be emphasizing on their newest "Red Storm" based MPPs and when these come SGI will hardly prosper undisturbed

Unlike SGI which is clearly focusing on Altix and IPF based
follow-on products, Cray's future Opteron line is secondary
both in thinking and in lucrativeness to its flagship X1 box
and its X1E successor and more susceptible to pricing
pressure from competitors.
