Equity - I do agree that selling out of their first run is positive and important, nonetheless, how many were sold still makes an significant difference.

"At least it proves demand that is greater than the company anticipated" Don't be naive dude, do thing that Nintendo was suprised to find out that demand for the Wii exceeded the amount they shipped? Of course not, scarcity generates interest. Which would be a more exciting PR that would generate greater interest in a product:

-XYZ is pleased to announce that it has sold out its entire first run production of 1000 widgets; or

-XYZ is pleased to announce that is has sold 75% of its first run production of 1400 widgets.

75% of 1400 is more than 1000 but does not sound nearly as exciting. Just think of all of the publicity that Nintendo gets when the news covers long lines waiting to get a Wii, people fighting over the last one, or even when people getting whacked over them. Do you really think Nintendo is caught by surprise? It is about creating hype, short the supply today in order to boost the demand for tomorrow. Good for ETIM if they are doing this.

Again, not bashing ETIM one bit, just trying to work on forecasting an accurate picture of sales and not get caught up in the dillusions that some are unfortunately burdend with.

Hope, trust, and faith have no place in the stock market; let technical analysis be your guide to mighty profits.
