Mobile IT solutions is the sector that is going to grow like "gangbusters". The following quote comes from the CEO of XTND, a wireless software company that has only recently made its first profitable quarter.

XTND closed at $4.66 Friday. If XTND has made the first quarterly profit in the companies history on revenues directly related to mobile technology, then Mobile Reach International Inc. has the opportunity to become a profitable company much sooner. MOBILE REACH management had the foresight as a start-up to develop a technology that corporations need help with the most, mobile technology.

Jepson said increased sales for the past quarter demonstrate a growing interest among businesses to provide workers with wireless technology.

“The fundamental driver has been the adoption of mobile technology,” said Jepson, who took over as CEO this summer after the resignation of longtime CEO Steve Simpson. “In the past, companies couldn´t demonstrate the ROI (return on investment), and the reliable wireless network needed to support our product wasn´t available until the last 18 months.”

Extended Systems develops and sells software that allows mobile workers to conduct business using wireless devices such as cell phones and personal digital assistants.

Extended Systems´ wireless software lets mobile workers such as sales reps and truck drivers use handheld devices to access data from a desktop or laptop computer back at the office.

“We think this technology is going to grow like gangbusters over the next two to three years,” said Jepson.

Analyst Matt Hoffman, of Soundview Technologies in Connecticut, agreed.

“Wireless e-mail is growing in popularity, and there´s a definite momentum in the market for the products they are selling,” said Hoffman.
