Today drugs are a bargain. Our doctors have a great formulary of generic drugs available to treat the elderly, Insurance companies are promoting these generics. I agree that many drugs are expensive because of the cost to bring a new drug to market (500,000,000) These drug companies have only protection of patent law to recoup their investment usually 5 to 10 years although patent protects for 17 years. It take 5 to 10 years to bring a drug to market and many fail to make it. I am thankful for doctors and drugs which is a form of insurance for me.
